Project underway, many questions

I took off the upper and lower intake manifold and when i was taking off the lower manifold(right above my exhaust manifold/header) there was somethign attached to the lower manifold between the 5th and 6th port actuaotors. It had a big hose leading to a pump, the air pump i think. I pulled it off, like 3 nuts, and it was pretty nasty. Wat is it. Also are the 2 outter tubes on the upper and lower intake exhaust tubes, because mine are caked with carbon buildup. Also wat can i use to clean them out, and what all should i take off before cleaning off al l of the carbon buildup? More questions to come later, pre-emtive thanks to all who help.

The thing you pulled off is the air control valve or ACV. Unless its a series 5 motor, (89-91) you dont need it unless you need to pass emissions. Same goes for the air pump. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about with the second part of your question.

I took off the Upper Intake MAnifold, its connected to the EGI part. It conbsists of 4 pipes, the inner 2 are clean so i am assuming they are 2 intake pipes and the other 2 re really dirty and have lotsa carbon buildup on them so i am assuming they are exhaust pipes. I mainly need to know how to clean carbon buildup

They are all intake runners (it is afterall the intake manifold that you removed )...The 2 middle ones are the primary intake.. the outer 2 are the secondary which are used only when the 5th & 6th ports open...visually follow how the air flows through to the sleeves and youll get it.

Carb cleaner, wire brushes, Purple Power, hot water, elbow grease and patience will get it clean

Carbon tends to build up in the secondary and 5th and 6th ports. Dont worry about it man, everybody's engine does that.

Ohh ok, while thats all off is there anythign else i should try to clean, and how do i go about unfreezing my 5th and 6th port thingies, im not exactly sure what these thingies im speaking of are, but they are inside the motor more and are opened by the actuators. They are froze so i gotta free them up somehow.

Your talking about the rods right? Or are you talking about the sleeves themselves? The rods are in the lower intake manifold and turn the sleeves that are in the motor. The rods are very prone to siezing up. Just take everything off the lower intake manifold and put the whole thing in a bucket of carb cleaner for a few days. You should be able to work them out then. As for the sleeves, use some needle nose pliers and work them out.

Mineral Spirits?

Ok so the rods move good, then work out the sleeves with needle nose pliers and clean them out. You could even throw the pineapple sleeves in there while your at it.

What are pineapple sleeves, and mineral spirits is a cleaner. Its the liquid put in the bottom of parts cleaners. Its used to break up grease and stuff. Pretty good stuff, but ijust dont wanna mess anythign up. Ive heard a little bit about pineapple sleeves, but what do they do and where do they go?

Yeah shouldnt be a problem. As for the pineapple sleeves. It'll be pretty obvious when you pull out your current sleeves, but when the air goes into the motor through the aux ports, it hits a solid 90 degree turn before it gets into the motor. The pineapple sleeves have an insert that makes the sharp 90 degree turn a nice smooth one. Heres a pic to show you the difference:
