project rex begins tonight!!!

i was going to sell my 83 gs for a mere $450, but then i got a job the day after i put it up for sale. now i just cant bear the thought of selling it. being that i have an rx7 awaiting an engine rebuild, i now have a green light to take it all the way down and start from scratch...not a bad deal if you ask me.

as of 7:00 tonight i will be towing the car to my dad's house and pushing it in to the garage. i plan to put it on stands, drain the fluids and take pics tonight. i also plan on beginning the teardown and labeling process tonight. we will see how late dad lets me work on it

will post the pics as soon as i get them developed. im so damn jazzed right now. i have said it many times and i will say it again : I love this car!

here's what i did in 4-5 hrs today, a little motivation for ya.
i would have got the engine out as well but it was getting dark and i didnt feel like pushing the car under the tree.
before and after pics, hopefully you wont have quite the mess to deal with.

GIT-R-DONE! Good luck and be persistent and you'll have something to show off and be proud of.

It doesn't take much to tear down a rotary. I brought the 12A in my 82 to the point you see in the pics above and then lifted it out with a friend and a 7 foot length of 4x4 wood. I did it all in about 6 hours too, and thats with 2 hours worth of breaks too. It was actually harder to take the complete engine out of my 84 parts car with an engine hoist.
