Project "DESTRUCTION" RIP 1980 LS

I was considering selling my 1980 LS that I recently aquired... And after much deliberation I think that I am going to keep it. My plans for it are al follows:

Fix all the surface rust, then spray it back white again. The interior is trashed, ie nothing is salvagable.. So I am going to remove the interior out of my 1985 GS that I converted to black and put it in the 1980LS, this includes the dash/instrument cluster. I will then install the 5 way shocks up front, and a set of springs. The rollcage will go in next, along with the tri-point strut bar. The LS wheels will be replaced with a set of 14" Limited Edition wheels. Rats nest removal, and and 81-85 Gas tank will keep the fuel flowing properly. An ISMA GTU spoiler will round out the back end.

Everyone will probably burn me at the stake for bastardizing an LS but oh well. The track project I started is going nowhere, and I can't stand to sit out another season.. I already have almost every part I need as I was collecting them for the previous project.. Anyways RIP to the OLD LS.... And look out for the new one...

Whats the deal with the gas tank? I know the 79-80 are smaller, but do the 81+'s flow better?

No the gas tank on the car was rotted, and a 79-80 gas tank is hard to find.... SO.. I am using a later tank.

Will you have to cut out the spare tire hump to make it fit?

I think he will have to. Thats how the tank got bigger I think. Smaller donut spare= smaller well on the later cars.
