Need to Know About Seals

Hi All,

So after along discussion with my parents on whether to buy another car or what to do with the rx7, my dad starting being curious about how to rebuild the motor in my current Rx7. I was like WTF? Dad? is this you?

So I'm surpised that he is curious in doing this, so here is what I need to know. I guess if the price is right we are going to pull the motor and rebuild it ourselves.

What I need to know is a run down on costs of a rebuild kit. Like the Seals/apex seals and all that good stuff for a 12a engine.

Please let me know where I can get these, the prices, and or what I need.

Thanks

The hard seals are the expensive part. The gasket kits are cheap as all get out, but you need the hard seals for a good rebuild. Most of the places will have the seals for around the same prices, so its just a matter of where you buy them. While its apart, you could look at porting it yourself too. Although, remember it is a 12A with the crappy OMP setup, so the housings are probably flaking pretty bad. You could always consider finding some good 13B internals and using those instead to build a 4 port 13B too, but then you need new manifolds and junk too. Anyway, good luck, I hope it works out for you!
