Project "Cosmo" Kramer - New Dyno Numbers
Project "Cosmo" Kramer - New Dyno Numbers
1985 RX-7 GSL-SE
13BRE "Cosmo" Two rotor
93 Pump Fuel / Low Boost Setting (14 PSI)
Haltech E6K / 63-1 Turbo
Ford 8.8 Rear End (much heavier, with more drivetrain loss)
Nasty, Hot Conditions - 100 degrees+
408 RWHP at 14 PSI
Crispeed Tuned.

Don't go by the A/F numbers on the Sheet, the Dyno's wideband was off by .75 or more +/-.
We were getting bad ignition readings over 14PSI, so we couldn't run anymore boost. Might have a bad CAS. Will look into it this week.
The car did 340 at 9 PSI (Wastegate spring) and 408 at 14PSI. Looking forward to 17 and 19 PSI on pump gas. Then go for broke on Race Fuel.
I am verrrrry happy with the Turbo. The boost comes on nice and quick,
with no lag. Pulls like a freight train. The drag radials are no match for traction.
BIIIIG Difference in drivability over the Holley Blow-Through setup I previously had. Not to mention, more power under the curve.
I am in love all over again.
Thanks Cris.

very nice! congrats
how much hp gain did the efi have over the holley at the same boost level?
i know what you mean about driveability, you cant beat efi with a good tuner behind the keyboard!

It's not a real comparison.
The Ford 8.8 with the 9" ends, and Auborn Diff
are much heavier and more difficult to move that the
Stock GSL-SE Rear.
I've seen guys losing 50 WHP with just that
change alone.
But, for Pete's sake:
Last time:
Ported Engine:
Holley = 385 at 15 PSI (Stock Rear End)
Haltech = 408 at 14 PSI (Ford 8.8 Rear End)
Haltech = 340 at 9 PSI
Based on this, Minimim of 23 HP, but I'd say at least 40-45.
Compare it at 9 PSI compared to the Holley and stock port.
It's a difference of 70HP, even with the new Rear.
For Reference:
Originally:
Stock Ported Engine:
Stock GSL-SE Rear End.
Holley = 270 at 9 PSI
Holley = 315 at 12 PSI
Holley = 370 at 17 PSI
I am really impressed with the car now. Feels like OEM.
and aboslutely no bogging, and no gas "stink" on everything.
Cris is really, really talented - especially on the keyboard.

Holy ****. You are a god. Your holley blowthrough is what tempted me to do similar in my car, but this is just amazing. I'm still goin to have to keep my plans on the carb since I don't have the money for a high dollar computer and the tuning that goes with it. Hell, I don't even have the money to do anything to my car as it is, and I haven't even began to get the parts together. But as stated before, patience pays off in the end.
