project 12aturbo: = OVER

yea, i cant get the fuel pressure down because i'm sure i need a larger return line. i do not have the funds to fug with this right now or even for a while. ALSO, i tried cranking it over just for **** and giggles and i have leaks springing out everywhere. not gas, but oil and coolant. my energy and motivation right now are totally spent. this ******* SUX. i'm mostly talking out my *** right now because i'm just so mad. but i really can't do anything now. what would be the cheapest way for me to run a fuel return line atleast 1/2"?

Where are you leaking stuff from? That sounds serious.

As far as your return, I DOUBT that's it. Setzep
and Mike P-28 both run stock Returns on Fuel Injected vehicled without any problems.

Worse case scenario, you can cut the spring inside the FPR.

You do know you can adjust the pressure using the inner and outet nut right?

Sorry, I am on a work PC. No Aim here
I think Coldy's setup is the same as yours though, and he seems to have your back.

well, i have completely removd the spring all together. it's not even in there at all and it still won't go down. for some reason it actually did fall to around 5psi while cranking. but that's still too much. ARGULA.

Your return line is probably clogged then. The stock size is big enough, but since not much fuel is returned using the stock pump, the line can clog and you won't even notice it until you get a bigger pump.

well, got the pressure down. now i'm having carb trouble. the front float just refuses to level out. i have tapped on the banjo bolt and everything. the rear one is perfect. i'm getting a steady 3.5 psi now.

did you pull the restricter one way valve out of the return line? it sounds like you need to get someone with some mechanical skills over there to help you!!!

ok well, i didn't have to pull any restrictor valve out. the fuel pressure is now fine. it was a simple mistake of me turning the acutal feed fitting in too much. i loosened it and now have control of psi. what more mechanical skill do i seriously need? i got all this **** on and it's all working fine now. the carb has a sticky float. i am just scared to open it up without talking to carl first. THAT IS ALL. if you don't want to help then don't respond. thanks.

edit: sorry rob. just sounded like you were attacking me.

sticky float is easy to cure. just pull the lid off the carb, take floats out, clean floats, needle and seat with carb cleaner. check float tabs and float rod (the rod that goes thru the float to hold it), make sure not bent if so replace.

This is all way over my head FB II, but I wanted to wish you good luck. Sounds like you have all the skill you need and then some. Maybe just a few more deep breaths once in a while to keep the frustration level down. I will be looking forward to seeing your final results! Hang in there, I'm sure it will all be well worth it.

do not hit your carb with a hammer!!!
i dont think carl and sterling would approve or reccomend doing that!!!

simply remove the carb top and check that the floats move up and down freely....simple

sometimes in shipping the floats get stuck, its no big deal

lol, i didn't beat it with a hammer . i released all the gas out of the float and then reset the pressure. all good now. still wont crank though. i'm venting the bottom plug holes now to get gas out of the motor.

No way in hell do you need a larger return line unless you're running like 1/16" line instead of the factory stuff.
