Problems with parking brake

I'm trying to attach my parking brake cable to my parking brake assembly and I'm having quite a time with it. The cable seems to be about an inch or two short (meaning if the assembly is bolted in, the cable doesn't reach quite far enough). I have it as taut as possible without engaging the rear brakes. If anyone has any ideas about this I'd love to hear them. Thanks guys, always a pleasure.

That's right, I posted before I searched!!!

Do I need an -SE cable if I've upgraded from GSL brakes in the rear? If so, anyone have an -SE cable to get rid of (c'mon, I know all you racers just get rid of all the e-brake ****)?

I think you do. The SE calipers are in a different position than the others.

Of course, I'm saying "I THINK". Hopefully someone who's pissed around with both can answer with a greater measure of certainty

According to the VB catalog, it appears that. the SE cables are different than the GSL's.

The cables I got for my SE are the same length as the GSL cables. I brought my old cable in and matched it to what he ordered since I knew VB lists 2 different cables and he listed one cable for GSL and SE.

Also, the right and the left are the same, the rubber gromit (at the frame) spins to accomodate either side.

It is 27 5/8 inches (70.5 cm) long.

Did you loosen the nut at the brake handle?

sooooo ... just for clarity ... you're saying that the GSL and SE cables are both the same even though they are listed as being different?

I would also like this clarified as I'm in the same predicament. There is no listing for an e-brake cable for my GSL-SE at my locale part stores, will the GSL one fit?

Thank you.

Actually if I recall correctly, the -se one are actually slightly longer than the GSL ones. And i think i remember reading something about different end on the caliper itself... I could be wrong though but that is what I recall. I should have an extra -SE caliper sitting around so i'll check them out.

another thing to make sure, is that the right length one is going to the right sides. I think the shorter of the 2 goes to the driver side, and the longer one goes to the passenger side.
