Alright, so managed to relocate the fuel filter even higher, and now is to the level of the pump, though the hosing looks like an intestine

Did a couple of test runs last night driving it hard for about 15 mins - no lack of fuel or drop in pressure. Did a longer test today, driving the car hard for 15 mins, stop for 5 mins, driving it hard for 20 mins, no lack of fuel or drop in pressure. So far so good. Next test is to drive 30-40 mins nonstop and see what happens. But it looks promisory *knocks on wood*.
