$184 plus tax. 3 days have it done.

This guy said its needs to have 2 hours labor on the prep
he had told me spoiler is rough, and needs to be smoothed out.

$348 plus tax . 7-10 days have it done This shop was very busy and looked very prof and seemes to do mostly insur work.

AA Auto Paint & repair.

Man said wing is fine does nto need a lot prep,But install he wants to drill his own holes asnd not use ones that are already there with bolts .. That did not make sence to me. Do most shops drill there own hole?

He said if i want to pay cash $200 for the whole job. he said he would have Car ready on moday if i drop car off on friday.

The shop that gave highest bid does that seem high? ($348) Because that was the guy that when I walked away saying I want them to do work, but then the two lower bids make me feel like could get taken ..

So what price seems correct in your eyes.. thanks in advance for any help

I think you really need to see similar work done by each shop to make an educated decision. Simply going by quotes and statements doesn't answer the question if YOU are going to like their work. Plus- do you want show quality or are you not concerned with minor imperfections? Is it custom colors?

Personally? I bought the Mariah front spoiler and it needed quite a bit of prep work. I sanded the whole thing down, had to fill in some spots, sand again, fill again and so forth and so on. It was easily 6 hours including spray time and mounting. At $45 an hour that's $270, not including shop supplies. (Granted I did the work and my friend owns a bodyshop- so I paid zilch..)

If I were you- I'd seek a referral from someone that has had similar work done that you find acceptable to you.

 

Couldn't tell you if you're being taken or not, sorry. Just wanted to say "nice wing dude"! What is it exactly, where did you get it, and how much $$$?

Oh, if it was me, I'd probably do the wet sanding and prep work myself, then take it to Maaco and have them shoot it for even less money. Or maybe the highpriced guys. Point is, you don't need to be an expert to sand a part smooth, so why pay an expert to do it?

 

This one's tough. You usually get what you pay for. I'd check out all of there finish work and go from there.

Tom: Going with the factory color Red (see photo below) the place with the high cost, said the color match from vin numbers off the car and off inside doorjam with this camera/computer thing.

Will go and ask if i can see a Before and after of a car/body work . Thanks again for the Ideas .

 

i personally have never seen a good macco paintjob

 

One problem is matching color. The factory color is what it was originally, but over time it will tend to fade marginally. Its far better to computer match than just assume the factory colour is still right.

 

dude...do the paint work your self...get some snad paper of varying grit...medium to fine. sand it once all over...wask it with mild soap and water and spray on the primer evenly. sand lightly with medium paper, wash and prime again...sand with fine paper till you get something very nice and smoothe.

if you want to be sure its nice and even...spray a part with black paint...let it dry...then try to sand it off...if you have a low spot, the paint will not come off of that area...then you build it up with another coat of primer in that area...then sand...

easy work to do!
