Angry Pressure Plate fun

I just got to putting in the clutch for my 7. my buddy bought the clutch for it over a year ago and then he sold me the car and now im doing the clutch. my probelm is that the pressure plate only lines up with three (3) bolt holes at any one time. is there a difference in fly wheels or something? mines a 83 with a 12A. i dont know if its the original motor or not.

79-82 has a smaller (by 10mm) flywheel and pressure plate than the 83-85 cars, its possible you have the wrong size clutch for the flywheel you have (??)

Compare the Disk to the one you took out.

its hard to explain the problem. its as if the bolt pattern going around the pressure plate lines up with the pegs, but no matter how you line it on the pegs, theres only three holes that are lined up to put a bolt in.

Sounds like you could have the wrong pressure plate. They are the same bolt pattern from 73-85+.

Here's what it should look like. More pictures in this thread.

You should be able to measure it, and if its the wrong size then the guys will be able to tell you.

Is it not 225mm vs 215mm?
