Question pressure in the coolent system

alright guys i need your imput. i have a 83 gsl 12a and i am building up pressure in the coolant system. i just rebuilt my carb and hooked everything all up and it started up like a dream. but when it got real hot the radiator hoses started to blow antifreeze out and the hoses looked like they were gonna blow. i felt the radiator and a section was cold so i got a different radiator and put that in. it still got pressure in the system but not as much. i checked the thermostat and it was fine. and i know the water pump is working cause i i saw the fluid flowing when car ran with radiator cap off. what should i do? why am i building pressure? are the radiator hoses suposed to be firm or mushy when the car is running?

buy a new one, they aren't very expensive.
Is it overheating?

15psi waterpressure is a lot.

your hoses might just need to be replaced.

when they get old, they can swell and look like there going to burst, even at normal pressure.

the hoses are original but when the car is running the hoses are tight and you cannot squeeze the hose at all. arnt you suposed to be able to squeeze the hose a little when the car is running?
it is not burning antifreeze so i know there is not a broken gasket. cause i was told that while in the compression stroke it is putting the compression in the cooling system cause of a blown gasket and its not burning out of the exaust. i dont know please give me all the info possible. thanx guys, you all save me hundreds of dollars with all your knowledge. thanx

Bleed the system very well, replace the cap (cheap insurance). Just sounds like to much air in there.

Burp the cooling system: when the engine is cold, remove the rad cap and start the engine. Watch for bubbles to burp up in the rad and add distilled water as necessary until it stops. Have the heater valve open while you do this.

might be an idea to do a test on the coolant to see if it has HC in it. If it does , then you got leaky water seals in the motor, and you are blowing compression into the coolant system
