prepping a distributor for drawtru boost....

What are the instructions for prepping a distributor for drawthru boost? Any help would be A LOT of help!

Are you talking about pulling back the vaccuum on the distributer and running the timing forward?

Remove the springs from the fly weights.... Start car, set timing.

Well what about the "welding the flyweights"? Do you still need to do this if you take the springs out? Sorry guys, just a little confused here.....

If you use the "search" this has all been covered a million times over. But lucky for U I'm at work with nothing to do!

Anyway no you don't need to weld them. As soon as you crank the motor the weights will immediatly swing out and lock out high. So I don't see the point in welding them. Some do it for piece of mind. I suppose it would be possible for one to get stuck closed or something. I've never heard of it happening.

So thats the ONLY thing thats need to be done.... just take out the springs? Wow, thats a lot simplier than I thought!
