Would using the stock OMP and premixing with a synthetic 2 stroke oil or maybe some MMO reduce the octane of 94 octane fuel to a level where it would cause detonation? I have a Weber carbed 13B. It's also turbocharged with the Cartech Racing kit set at 15psi max boost. Also, if I were to mix MMO in with the oil, would it have any effect on the turbo? Does MMO work like 2 stroke oils? I was thinking of using a 400:1 ratio for the premixing since I still want to use the stock mechanical oil metering pump as like a back-up. What's a good ratio? If I were to disengage the OMP and run full premix, how do I go about disconnectiing it and what would be the best synthetic 2 stroke oil to premix with? I know it's a lot of questions and I have done a search but I can't find anything about my application. Any help and answers are greatly appreciated. P.S.: Off topic-How do you tell if you have an electronic distributor? Did the older points style come with ballast resistors stock? Is it possible to use the ballast resistors that come with MSD Blaster 2 coils even if I do have an electronic dizzy? Help.

Oil is only a very slight octance reducer... I wouldn't worry about it.

also only the 79's came with the points dizzy. the ballistic resistors are white(yellowish now) ceramic boxes with springs on the driver's side strut tower in the front. you should know if you have them. my car wouldn't climb over 5k faster then a small snail with the points dizzy.

As long as the 2 cycle is a TC-W3 rating, you should be fine. I would recomend against mixing MMO in the oil with a turbocharged car. I've noticed it thins the oil considerably which is not good for turbo bearings.

I use it on my 2nd gen along with premix as double insurance. So far my plugs have been spotless since I stoped burning engine oil in my motor.

Why would you want to use ballast resisitors with an electronic dizzy? There's no need...

Adding 400:1 premix in conjunction with the OMP would have next to no effect on the octane rating. If you're still worried though you could maybe use some octane booster.

I have an electronic dizzy so I'm not going to use the ballast resistors at all. I'll probably use MMO or 2 stroke oil in with the gas as added insurance to the OMP. Or maybe make an elixir of MMO, 2 stroke, and octane booster.
