premixing with 2 stroke

just started premixing a while ago, and have been using a 2 stroke motorcycle oil. is this fine to use? what about mmo? would it be any better? with this motorcycle oil mixed between 1:80 to 1:100 (which is what i have been doing), there is no noticable smoke out the rear at all. should i stick with it?

Any 2-stroke oil will work. 80:1, and 100:1 are about what the factory MOP supplies, so you should be good there. You're not running a dirtbike or chainsaw, so no smoke is good smoke. You just want to have enough to lube the seals on the rotor. Too much and you'll foul your plugs more often.

If you don't mind, this may be a little dumb but, I want to make sure I'm doing it right too.

1 gallon = 128 oz
1 RX-7 (84) tank fillup = ~15 gallons (when the light comes on)
oz gas per fillup = 1920 oz
100:1 Ratio for Premix = 19.2 oz of Oil for each tankfull of Gas.

I've been putting 12 oz of premix per tank for the last 2 tanks, so I have to increase it. I use 6 oz bottles with the premix in it so make it easy, I now need 3+ of them per tank.

I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing.

1 oz./gal of gas is sufficient. That gives a ratio of 128:1. If the mop is still connected, no more than 1/2oz/gal. The 3rd gens will run ratios as thin as 800:1 on the stock system, but no fatter than 200:1.

well im igoing my millilitres, and we buy gas by the litre. so it makes it easy for us carling boys up here. i usally only put 10 bucks gas in, and since gas is a dollar a litre, i put in 100ml of premix in.

the one thign that bothers me is that the stuff i just started to use (2 stroke oil for motorcycles), it says on the back of the bottle that the solution is diluted. that doesnt't mean i should be adding more does it?

If its the 50:1 solution (read the packaging) you can go even thinner. ie I use Amsoil synthetic which is 50:1 for usual use, and only add 8oz to a tank full because this is better than basic 2 stroke oil.
