Power steering install?
Is it at all possible to put a power steering system in my 83 GSL? Also would it be better to transfer the system from a newer FB or are there aftermarket kits available? I can't find too much information on this topic.
I added PS to the widebody because of the huge front tires. There is a line drawing in the 85 FSM that shows the entire system. You will need the pump, e-shaft pulley, idler pulley, mounting bracket, lines and cooling loop, steering box.. There is some debate on whether one needs the column or not. I believe one does and swapped that too. The later FB PS systems should swap in to your 83.
What I'm curious about is why you feel you need PS. The FB is light enough that you really don't need PS. I can parallel park my FB with 205/50R15's with a 180 tread wear rating.
But if you feel you need it, as Trochoid said, everything should bolt up.
