Power Foam!!! Omg!!!

That stuff is awesome!!! squirt it in the spark plug holes and turn your engine over... let sit for 2 hrs... spin engine over like you're flooded (to get it all out)

Hook everything back up and go.

Wow!! What a difference!!!

go to www.amsoil.com or You may be able to get it from your local parts store. Call and ask. It's called "Power Foam" It's 4 bucks a can, but I didn't even use a quarter of it. I squirted it in each side of the rotor until it foamed out the holes and let it sit. It's also a carb cleaner, so you could clean your carb with it if you wanted. It gets rid of carbon and fuel varnish.

I've only got about 35,000 miles on this engine, but it wasn't incredibly well taken care of before me, so...

I'm very impressed.

It will smoke if you let the starter spin the engine, because that's the direction the engine turns (remember, it tries to force the exhaust out the exhaust ports, so that's where everything goes if you spin with the starter)

However, if you spin the engine *backwards* by hand, you can get it out without putting any into your cats.

But WankelGuy has a write-up in another thread on the page today talking about his way to do it. Although I don't like the smokieness for people with cats, his way is insanely good at doing what it's meant to do - get the carbon **** out! I think the heat of having had the engine run might help somehow.

Anything that you burn in your engine while it's running that isn't air or gas will produce the bad smoke though, so just be careful.

Remember, with some patience and some scratched knuckles any good solvent can be used and not have to get into the cats much. Hell, I used the evil ATF when I did mine a few years back, and I didn't get more than a half-a-puff of smoke.

But Keaponlaffen has a point with PowerFoam being *made* for this!

In regards to smoke, when I did the PF treatment on my running engine I didn't get any smoke. The exhaust stunk but I didn't get smoke.

Yeah, I got all the stuff out by spinning my engine backwards by hand... I had a tiny amount of smoke afterwords, but not much. I highly doubt it would do anything to the cats.

I don't have cats, so I'm not worried, but it's definitley better than a MMO treatment or an ATF treatment. It's designed to clean this stuff.

here's what it looks like:

yeah. i hope it works good. used it a week ago on an engine that was out. sprayed through the exhaust, let sit for day, turned and sprayed again. the apex seals were pretty fugly and didn't spring at first. now they look pretty good and have spring to them. it sure loosened them up and cleaned the damn engine. so in a week or so i'll see how good the engine works. don't know if its runnable cause i got it out of the car. was told he drove the car home them took out the engine to completly redo car, got a second gen and said screw the first. so hopefully the engine will run. that will be a bonus. and by the way, you can get the stuff from atkins rotary

I used SEAFOAM from the local Autozone. 2 Cans of this stuff made a huge diff. One can injested in the intake (Via vacuum hose) the other can split between the crankcase and the gas tank

Do it outside and watch the smoke (and the PO PO)

I don't care if it smokes or anything like that, I just don't want my cat to get messed up, it costs too much to replace, thats my only concern.

i used seafoam in my car this weekend. don't have cats...so didn't have to worry about that. i coated each rotor face, let it sit, blew the excess out of the spark plug holes, then cranked it up. smoked quite a bit for at least 10 minutes. but now it cranks much easier when it's cold.

also added mmo to my fuel and oil. and i did an h2o treatment a month or 2 ago.

the engine is very powerful and revs freely to 8,500rpm

going to be dropping on a holley carb pretty soon
