I'm 17 and think you will probabely need a new antenna, but i woulnd worry about that too much at this time. What other problems are wrong with the car is what i would be doing right now. i was 15 when i got my car aswell and i worried about making it look all nice and everythign electronicly to work, but there is bigger issues with alot of these cars that need to be sorted out first.

if I remember correctly the power antenna on FBs is backwords from what it is on most cars. that is, when there is power going to the motor that controls its position it goes to the down position, and when the circut is broken it goes up.

if it was working recently there is probably just a bad ground somewhere or a fuse could have blown. check your fuses and then start testing the connections on the back of a radio and in the back at the antenna.
