Exclamation Power Antenea Questions ??????

Could someone PLEASE tell me how to determine if a power antenea is working or not. I have two at my disposal but am not sure if either works. I pulled one from my SE that has no radio and hooked it up to my GS and got nothing. I am pretty sure it has to be grounded against the body which I just held it there and still nothing. Does it need to be mounted in place ( which is a hell of a job ) so that it is grounded on the interior mount and the exterior as well ???? HELP !!!!!!

If possible, and if the antennas are folded in, not out, place the power wire onto the positive terminal of your battery and negative on negative. With power, it should extract. I believe. I have a non-working power antenna but haven't disassembled it to try my theory out. If I'm wrong and someone else knows the answer, correct me.

The wiring on GS and GSLSE models is probably a bit different.

I've found Jim Rothe's web site the ultimate statement on 1st gen power antennaes:

Too bad those old radio shack antenna's are getting hard to find. I'm down to my last two, hopefully enough to get me through the next 10 years.
