post got lost, here it is again: shooting flames?

i hear rotaries are especially good at shooting lots of fire out the exaust. does this only work with a straight through pipe, or would it would with an rb exausht and high flow cats? what is it bad for? what causes it?

i used to shoot flames through two presilencers and a muffler. not very good for them because it burns the insides.....
it is caused, usually, by running rich combined with the hi exhausst temperatures..

always fun

i guess it wuld be more efficient to rig up a spark plug and auxillery fuel pump to the exaust tip, but it's cooler when it comes from the engine i think...

especially if you were running a we shot of nitrous and had it rigged up to provide too much fuel?

my car used to backfire and one and a half to two foot blue fire ***** would come out. not exactly shooting flames though. that was when i had an all stock exhaust system. i got a RB header and presilencer and it doesnt do it anymore.
i would say the more straight through your exhaust system is, the more likley it is to actually shoot flames.

My car never backfired at all, but now it does with full RB exhaust. I know im running a little rich too, but I dont know if it shoots flames or not, I just know it backfires, lol.

a freind of mine kinda did that. he rigged a spark plug to the tailpipe of a carbed bronco and tuned it rich as hell. the spark plug was hooked up to a battery inside the truck. he said it shot some pretty wicked flames. scared the **** out of some people.

if you are just going for the look, there are kits you can buy to shoot flames.

OMG making your car shoot flames how old are you? LOL

Damn I thought this was a question only asked in 2nd gen forum... MOST of them in there are little kids...

Lets do some simple math, GAS+HOT EXHAUST + CAR / FIRE = BAD!

Autoloc has a kit for this, its a coil, a button and the wiring.... shove the coil in yer exhaust pipe, run rich and press the button when you rev up. The instructions on the kit warn that up to 20ft flames have shot from cars, so no reving and flamming in traffic kids!

Not 60, but a little more than 1/2 that. But this seems like something that one would try to prevent, not try to make happen.
