Possible dumb newbie question...

Alright, the long and short of it is that my A/C doesn't work and I live in Utah, here's what I've figured out.

The guy I bought it from did all kinds of tinkering in the center console and stuff putting in and taking out head units and that sort of thing, so I figured maybe he'd accidentally damaged the wiring or ripped it out all together, but I looked and it seems to be good. The problem (at least I think) is that I'm not getting power to the button. I've checked the belts and everything, and it's all in fine order, but when I push in the A/C button, the light doens't turn on. I can feel it clicking on, but no light. I was wondering if anyone could help me troubleshoot this, I'm taking a trip in the RX in about 2 weeks and I don't want to pay to have it looked at professionally, I'm a DIY kinda guy.

Thanks a ton.

okay, nevermind, i figured it out, cuz the dumbass guy who told me the A/C didn't work kind of overlooked THE FUSE BLOCK. Simple as a 15A fuse, the guy new engines but aparently had no common sense.

That's a great feeling, isn't it? When I bought my Miata I got the guy to knock $500 off the price because the AC inexplicably stopped working. I was hunting down the issue...and it was a 25 cent fuse. Awesome.

I would defently go through the rest of the car before driving it daily. If there was one simple problem that was not resolved by the previous owner there will surley be more. If he pulled the center consel then I would stronly advice to take it back out and check the wiring. Some people simply do not wrap the wires properly and would hate to see a post of the car burning to the ground due to not having commen sense ;]
