PA porting questions

ok so i really don't know **** about the whole porting deal. so first off if someone could explain that more to me or direct me to a site that'd explain it to me that'd be good. second i was looking into getting the holley carb. & intake for my 84 gsl & was wondering if i should get it ported first? like, does the porting affect what kind of intake & carb. i get? liek i said i don't know **** about that so if anybody could help me out i'd appreciate it.

Typically carbs are set up differently for porting than stock. If you know you will do a port job on your rebuild, then buy the carb jetted for a ported engine. Just my .02 cents.
