Porting???
I live in west texas, and there is absolutley NO ONE that will even touch a rotary- not even the mazda dealership. I was wondering where i could get a street port and an engine rebuild done on my 12A for pretty cheap. I would rebuild it myself, but i dont think i have the right tools. Thanx

Sorry no one else is responding!! You are way out west. Pobably the closest thing is here in Dallas. There are several shops here in Dallas to do what you are wanting. Rotary Performance, Marvelspeed,Import Motorsports, and I am sure some others I have missed. There are enough helpful soul here on the forum that if you attempted it yourself we all could probably walk you through it, unless we all got in an arguement on which way to do it

I have all the housings and front cover. Have the plates lapped, buy new seal kit, etc.... and build it yourself or have someone else build it while your car is still on the road!
Build yourself a 12a streetport motor!
unassembled 12a parts for sale:
12a rotor housings - new in '97, no flaking or chipping of chrome - mildly
streetported to maintain good torque
12a 4 port front and rear side housings, and intermediate housing - BIG
streetport, intake runners ported out good too. These housings must be
lapped before using.
12a front cover
17.5mm oil pump - new in '97
RB dual sheave main pulley - new in '97
oil pump chain and gear
oil pickup tube
front counterweight
stock oil pressure regulators
tension bolts
$600.00 Parts are cleaned up and ready to go. I want to sell this as a
complete kit.
The motor was built in September '97 by Steve @ Mazda Specialites and ran
like a champ. Then taken
apart in January 2001. Now I'm upgrading to 12a J-bridge and am selling the
old motor unassembled. I have receipts. Port-work alone would cost you
$350!!

I can polish the rotor housings and front cover for another $100, and paint
the side + intermediate housing for $50. I can enlarge the exhast port
sleeves if you like for $50.

Brad, save that engine for me. Im going to be moving here probably by the end of this week. But i am VERY interested in the engine. But it doesnt come with rotors or any internals right? I will probably want the exhaust port sleeves enlarged. But i will definately get back to you. THanx
