Porting

Is there any disadvantige to porting the exuast and intake on a 12A because i heard somewhere that there is some sort of upkeep i must do every 6000 miles or so .....but the source isnt very reliable but he has been right before

Apart from tuning, he's wrong, a ported rotary is as good as a cammed 4 cylinder, not the life of a stock engine but not that much less, depending on the level of porting of course.

Well, if ported exhaust needed attention every 6k, then it would have to be a rebuild, cause that's the only way to work on the ports. And I believe everything I hear and read, especially here, don't you? LOL.

You are correct, your source is unreliable for this bit of information.
