gauge cluster replacement

ok, got some of those ebay gauges, trying to install them, but i cant seem to get the speedo and tach needles off. i dont wanna force nothin, trying not to break stuff, y'know? haynes and chiltons were no help either. pull, twist, pry, what? im just trying not to break anything

. Did it two days ago and posted a thread and it was archived. You will like the trick. In and out in less than an hour.

My bad, read it too fast. Take a flat head screwdriver and slide under the bottom betweeen the face and the base of the needle and pry up. Should slide right out. Seems like you are going to break it but there is nothing holding them in.

well ill be! hah thanks, i figured id ask a stupid question rather than break something. and yeah, i used the trick to get it out.

Also a fork seems to work well for needle removal. Works for me at least.
