You REALLY can't just dump it... the Weber 48IDA is a carb where you need to feather it to get it opened up, THEN you can maul on it. It doesn't really start flowing really well until above 3500...

I don't know if its the same on the 7's with a single as it is with 4 but you get the same problem if you are flooding it...There is a bypass valve in the float chamber of the 48IDA that you can change to 50 or 55 and that takes care of alot of the stumbling problems with these carbs. My Cobra was terrible till I changed these and I can mash it to the floor from the start I don't have to ease into it.

We will see if the same holds true when I get the 7 running again and ready to race.

I got the 48ida and I can give it hell whenever i want. No bogging down any time. I only have the problem of a little stumbling at crusing speed.

It may end up as a problem matching the IDA with an automatic. You just can't feed in the clutch.

I presume you are a two foot driver, so left hard on the brake and keep the revs up with the right. When the lights change, hard right and off left.

with a 48 when you gas it hard you are prolly flooding it. so it will bog out.

48 is big for a 12a.
