I hear ya but I'm not really involved with the software and how it coded. My job is to make sure that apache and mysql work at it's best. But you're right about one thing, to display one page takes one h3llava lot of db calls.

Its certainly better than it used to be, but its still choppy, slow and quirky from time to time.

You're right about that. I've gotta put some more attention towards that.

Let's See...

I didn't notice any improvement. I am on a DSL line with very good bandwith both up & down. (I know uploading is a little slower than downloading with DSL).

Seems to take over 1.5 minutes or more to upload a picture that is less than 100k.

Thanks for trying!

I have no grievances with the server anymore. Seems to be working much better with the new host. I'm used to slow uploads - I have 56k - it's all a matter of patience. I think we all could use a dose of that anyway.

I'm happy it works! I just want it to work faster! Hopefully more speed along with some nice new features will come with the new forum software upgrade.

Overall, it's definately improved greatly. There are still quirks occasionally, but it'll probably never be perfect. Hell, for most of us, that should feel normal. We are 1st gen owners after all. We all appreciate the efforts you've put forth to make this a better, and more reliable place to share information.

Thanks Brian! BTW, the quirkyness comes from the fact that this server get's hammered to the tune of about 4 million (puts pinky up to lip) hits on an average day!

ok Dr evil calm it down there. As for the server, its definatly much better than days of old, the pic uloads do seem to take forever, granted i'm on dialup but it shouldn't be that slow. Other than that its all good.
