pls explain

why does a ported motor HAVE to be sooooooo loud?

a small block chevy has to flow as much or more air so why not just use larger pipe and a free flowing muffler like a walker or a flowmaster?

There are a few things i still don't understand about rotory engines, i guess it's just the nature of the beast.

the more air/fuel you burn the luder the combustion is going to be. When you port the motor you allow for more air and fuel to enter the combustion chamber, which is why a ported motor is louder than a stock one.

Another big reason is the lack of exhaust valves.

not really if you get a muffler restrictive enough to make it quiet again then it is choking the engine and defeating the purpose of porting

We'll have to wait for the day when active mufflers become affordable...until then a flowmaster combination that uses the exhaust wave to cancel some of the acoustics is the only way to go...
