Is that just the stuff you buy in a spray-can and spray it on?

Damn, You're not kidding. Jeremy, will that stuff peel or crack off? I've always heard good things about Plastikote, but I don't have any experience with it.

Also, Did you have to prep the area first much? Sand? Alcohol? Primer?

Looks good, but I have to tell ya my experience on the subject... I use this PPG stuff, its a cleaner it will totally annihilate armor all, dirt, old paint, whatever...

I always use either PPG paint premixed in a prevail sprayer, or I use SEM trim paint. I have painted mine in my 80 3 or 4 times, and after about 6 months it peels. So I asked and started using this cleaner and using a trim primer, and its been on there forever now, I think about 3 years and no problems ....

But there ya go theres, my paiting experience in a nutshell

my gf washed all of them down with mister clean and then let them sit a while. wiped them down with a dry cloth and sprayed. we used the plastikote bumper black flexible acrylic #616. as for flaking or peeling only time will tell. looks like new though. really good texture too.

i redid my whole interior with some similar paint,

now i'll be redoing it again,

i actually found one that does work,

the plasticote works but it can still scratch off,

the best out there is the paint that is made for vinyl interior pieces,

this stuff is the best.

i used some on a couple pieces in my interior and they are the only pieces left without a scratch or scuff mark on them.

that is one of the reasons i bought the bumper coating. i'm hoping it will take a lickin and keep on tickin. there were quite a few choices in the plastikote. like i said time will tell. it probably won't see much action in the hatch anyway since this cars a weekend/autox car. i just wanted it to look a lot nicer.

its all abs plastic. can says tough, fexible, fast dry finish for bumpers, molding and trim. so its made for the outside and hopefully will last on the inside.
