pics of painted calipers
Thinking of painting my calipers this winter when I put in my GSL rear end. I know there is special paint for it. I wanna know how it would look. Anyone on here done it? got pics? I'm not sure what color to do them. The car is sunrise red, hmmm, a blue might look kinda cool. myabe I can even paint a little "type r" symbol on them......
j/k runs and hides.

I have red calipers on a sunrise car with black alloy wheels. It looks great. Blue would not be noticeable, but I have seen yellow which was distinctive.
You need special paint because of the heat, one rated 900F or 490C at least. Some firms such as VHT, produce a caliper, drum and rotor paint, but if not available a exhaust one would do as it would have a higher rating.

Thing with painting your calipers is that you have to take your wheels off every couple weeks and scrub them clean to get the brake dust, etc off them... otherwise it looks like crap.... like mine....

Just make sure to get off the most rust you can if there is any. If you don't the paint won't last very long on there. I painted my rotor sliver to match the wheel and Caliper Blue... Looks pretty nice. Also Make sure that you don't let the brake dust just sit on there for long periods of time or else it will be very hard to clean off.
You could always POR-15 your rusted calipers first. I've spoken to POR-15 about this and they claim it works well. It's also resistant to brake fluid so that's a definite plus. This is what I plan on doing.
