how should I handle boost retard?

Well, with my TII shortblock on the way soon, and the TII Turbo on the dinning room table, I kinda have to start planning... The early series FC's in Europe still use distributor (very close to the 12A's) ignition. So, I was wondering, how will I deal with this... All things apart from the shortblock and turbo will come from a NA FC. So I need to get the ignition right... With stock ECU and piggyback S-AFC (running TII injectors), the fuel should be not much of a problem. But distributer is... Maybe I could go ignition only- computer, but then again, I plan on a complete stand alone engine management (Wolf 3D) in about one year... So I would like to know how the guys with 12A turbo's do this. If you lock the dizzy, how does the engine react? What side effects???
Not gonna ask this at the 2nd gen forum, as I'm a real First gen addict, and the intelligent people are over here anyway
So, help me out guys...
BTW: the engine is going into my first gen, of course...

Im not sure what else you would run on the set up thouh,BUT I think welding the dizzy is a must,Im n/a and I should even do this cuse im not using the vacum advance either

I took a look at the MSD stuff, but even if I find that rather intresting, it's not really the thing I'm looking for... Since I'm going Wolf 3D in about a year, there's no point in having so much changes in the ignition...
I think the dizzy-blocking would be a good start, or maybe a 12AT dizzy???

the 12at dizzy has a special vacuum retard, i think you can retard the whole thing and it will be ok, you loose a little on the bottom end though

And how much should I retard it? Is it harmless for the engine?

well it depends on how much boost you are running. to start out with 15btdc is a good ball park under 14psi.
i would leave the vacuum advances hooked up so it will have a little more timing when you are cruising

I'll use stock TII boost, to start with. Once I've got the Wolf 3D, levels will increase.

Do the European TII's use Distributor's as well? If so, then they would be the same as a 12AT kind, which would mean it will retard under boost.

If not..

An expensive ECU...

or

A stock 12A Dizzy with the advance locked, and an MSD6BTM module.

My wife would like to... Well, the turbo moved on, it's on the floor now. I had to get the table free for her birthday, yesterday At least the turbo is new, so absolutely clean.
A little worse is the wiring harness on the floor. I better make sure that's gone before she's back from work, or I WILL get killed...

That's the problem... TII have coilpacks and no dizzy.
An expensive ECU isn't an option untill one year. In the best case untill March, but I don't coun't on that.
Locking the advance might be the best (only) option I have. Well, and the MSD thingies would fit the bubget too.
