There is some misinfo.

You gain zero suspension travel "up" with the strut tower extenders, because at full compression with STOCK parts the tire nearly rubs the upper part of the inner fender. That is the ultimate limiting factor unless you run extremely small tires.

Fuzzy memory says that the strut tower kit included a spacer to go between the steering arm and strut housing, so roll center stays unchanged.

For installation they say you first drill existing strut towers to locate the extensions, then cut off the stock strut tower tops...but the extensions must have been welded on, yes?

From the description and reading the article in the RB catalog back in about 1987, this piece of metal is designed to support the extension while the drill marks are made, followed by cutting the stock towers and then bolting the extensions in place. It stands out as a specifically designed component to ensure that both extensions are the correct height;

Careful measurement of this part is likely 1.4" from top to bottom, and from the picture above, it seems about right for height.
