So, the proper layout is:

Spring clip on outer bottom
Tabbed clips on both upper positions, one of each type (L and R)
Simple clip on inner bottom
Anti-rattle spring (z-spring) with tang in hole on top of inner pad

Book'em, Danno.

Now, if I can just figure out why my clutch is squeaking...
hmm, they must have changed something over the years, is it weird that there is no spring clip on the inboard? however the Z spring might do the spring clips job.

i do approve BTW! maybe i should look to see if peepers HAS hardware?

does your clutch squeak when the pedal moves? or is it when the thing is engaging (the most interesting clutch in the world?). pretty simple. if it with pedal movement, its likely to be the pivot points the clutch fork moves on, tricky to get at!

Yeah, it's coming from the trans end, with clutch movement, so I figure the grease on the fork pivot ball has finally dried up. I tried re-greasing the contct point betweenteh slave and the fork, but no gain.

Guess I'll have to attach a flexible video probe to a greae tube, and snake it in past the rubber fork cover, or something.

Or just put up with it until I next pull the trans or motor.

I thought I'd share a picture of the kit I just received from rockauto. AUTOSPECIALTY / KELSEY-HAYES Part # HK2002. It was $6.18, and cost about 3 bucks to ship. The kit also included shims as well. Notice that 6 of the clips are identical, and the other 2 are side specific. Does anyone have a picture of the z-clip installed on the inside pad?

That looks remarkably like the set I had installed, and just removed. 6 straight clips, 2 sprung, with backing plates and z-springs.

Hard to get a pic of since the caliper covers it. The short 90* tang goes in the hole atop the rear pad, and you just sort of fiddle it in place as you rotate the caliper down over the pads. the long curved arm just rides inside the outer flanges of the caliper, above the outer brake pad.

Did your brakes rattle? I am wondering if mine will because my kit does not include the clip 'b' that springs up the outside brake pad. This is actually the clip I misplaced on mine, causing me to order a new one. Its funny because the generic kit picture deadphoenix52 posted above is the same one shown for my kit!

Mine didn't rattle, but after the pads wore down some, they would "clunk" on engagement, or on moving from forward to reverse. Seems like the spring-loaded bottom outer clips were the solution, as I'm 100 miles in with the same pads now, and absolutely silent.
