People wondering about a Borla Muffler and sound:

Exhaust was:
RB header into 2 1/2" pipe, into 3" Vibrant Stainless steel resonator in the CAT position, into the stock dual pipe muffler.

It was loud, but managable. Never any cop attention etc. Kinda raspy sounding.

Exhaust now:
Went 3" from the resonator, mandrel 16ga stainless, into Borla's offset in/center out 3" PRO XS stainless muffler.

Vibrates the whole car. Seriously louder. Garuntee it will attract the wrong kind of attention. Exhaust note however, is much deeper and refined sounding. Doesn't sound like a bunch of metal ***. And my weird heavy load whistle is gone.

I'll post pictures tomorrow. I'm going to see if I can stuff my 2.5" cat in there between the resonator and heater. It's just too damn loud.

Keep the flaming to a minimum. I knew it would be loud and that 3" is overkill. It was done for the imminent turbo installation. Dyno is this weekend too. Last year I made 110RWHP with the old exhaust. Now It will be a straight through exhaust (cough: plus cat :cough) with E-Fans and upgraded wiring. Shooting for 120RWHP.

Just wanted to add to the, YES, A resonator and borla muffler is freakin loud.

It's pretty loud on my TII Swap....3" all the way back with a corksport resonator and magnaflow muffler.

I don't mind it though...I guess you get used to the drone.

When I used an RB header -> 2" RB presilencer -> Borla Pro XS, it was kinda buzzy. Didn't really like it, nor did I like how the Borla was constructed. I'm using a Magnaflow now and love it, but if I was NA, I'd use a Racing Beat universal muffler. Those things are awesome, especially given the price.

I think you will need to work on your intake some more to see any real increases
in power. I made 134 rwhp with the mods in my signature (before the Carter
fuel pump and RB SP exhaust anyway).

ive got a borla too, depending on what ive had in front of it, it either sounds great, or kind of buzzy.

mine is also too loud, but with the 2 presilencers in front, it was almost streetable.

Intake is a ported smoothed SA intake. We shall see :O)

I think the borla is a little buzzy... but some of my co-workers say it sounds more refined and crisp than the stock muffler. You can hear the rasp in the pipe and coming out of the engine, but the actual exhaust note isn't too bad. Just ALOT of it.
