SEM Trim Paint. Hands down the best paint to use for trim.
It's so good I have used it on my wipers, dash center console, intake tubing, a set of wheels.
No need for primer. After washing the car, it dries without spots. If any area gets stratched, just respray over and it blends in. Amazing paint.

I'm way ahead of you. I painted my trim, it was in horrible condition.
Use a trim spray rattlecan and a primer. I didn't use a primer, but its so easy to touch up if you need it. Mine has lasted through several hail storms.
