I got the idea from the NSX,Eclipse and Camaros.I think it looks great so long as the windows are black.I thought about going black on the hood too,but figured more red would be sportier. Dupont 916 Primary Red and Mercedes Toner.......

The black hood with the black top looks good, but Im not a personal fan of the candy/neon colors.I like solids with lots of gloss....
Where did you get the headlight housings? I really like them but I'm not sure if I'd want to change out the popups. also bout how much do those housings go for?
I know I know way off subject, thanks for the help.

Its a modified Mid Tenn Miata kit which is no longer made/sold.I had to tweek the housings and recut the lids, but it came out pretty good.I used Hella 90MM projector pods for bright, legal lighting.
Anyone looking for flush lights is pretty much going to have to custom make them, since no one offers any pre-made kits anymore....and few ever did.

Paul, was that a 1st gen you saw in red and black?
Im curious because as long as Ive had my sceme Ive looked, but never seen another like it.It seems natural that someone else would have thought of doing it since the 1st gen has a great "cockpit" body style that lends itself well to this type of paintjob.....

I agree it is a great natural looking scheme.Yes, it was a Gen 1, and was like yours apart from the later black side rubbers which would not look good on your widebody. The reason I noticed it was it was the scheme was identical to my convertible which is red with a black soft top.

The RX-01, the 95 concept car shown at the Tokyo Motor Show was also red with a black top. It was a great pity Mazda never developed it as a FE RX-7. 280hp from a NA engine and 2420lb would have been a flyer.
