First, I have an 85 SE that is stealth grrey, maco paint job, I KNOW< I KNOW. try rubbing one of those out !!! The question is since I slammed the hood and all the paint fell off, what color would look great on the hood,I have to strip all of it so.....? Bob

Buy a CF hood it would look great with grey paint. But since they are next to impossible to get I would suggest some type of grey. Anything else I think would look stupid. If you don't paint it the same color as your car because its grey people are going to think that you just had your car primed. Ya go with same grey or repaint the whole car.

some cars have come factory with flat black hoods...

that's really the only other alternative i can think of.

yeah, flat black might be kinda cool. Maybe paint the peice between the hood and the front bumper too??

On of the ex-Navy surgeons I work w/ referred to my stock 7 as, ”battleship grey” in its primer I drove to work for a month. Now its my “battle cruiser” in charcoal. Just get Maco to paint it to match. They are cheap, not stupid.

maco sucks, the paint all falls off and they wont do anything,cause they changed owners, Think I will change the whole thing to tangerine.

i had a 3 year warranty on my $300 **** job on my old mustang from maco, only reason i maco'd it was to sell it, they suck

i would repaint the whole car. if money is your holding point, i would try to find a grey hood from an 84-85 car. might match better than you think.
