PAGING 680RWHP or other weber experts!
OK I;ve had massive problems with my car tonight. Turns out I have a huge vacuum leak. The gaskets between the carb and intake manifold are just dripping fuel, they have to be the cause of the leak. I cant drive more than 1/8 of a mile before my header starts glowing the brightest orange ive ever seen. Car has lost all its power.
But while I was trying to diagnose the problem, I first thought it was a carb problem. I examined the floats and that seemed ok. So I pulled out the floats themsleves, and Pulled out the needle valve. The little ball in the needle valve will stick about every third time if I push it in, so im guessing theres some crud in there.
I should get a new needle valve, but how do I knwo which one I have? Robert, do you know what needle valve you put in my carb? I dont see any writing on the needle valve at all.
Further, its blingly obvious I need some better fasteners for the carburator. What are you guys using? Was using the studs from the stock intake manifold, and then using 12MM nuts on them. Problem is U cant get much torque on the nut at all once it reaches the point where I cant get very much of the open end wrench on it.
Robert, how much woudl it cost you to send me all of these parts with like overnight quickness. I'll eat tons of cheese and get as fat as I can!

Robert has some 3.0 needle seats that would be best for the rotary, back in the day before robert got his shipping situation fixed I got my needle seat from Jay Cee enterprise. They have a glass ball set up that Im very happy with. Dont know if the have it for the DCO, but its worth a check. As for tightening down your carb, a box end wrench works great, but I warn you dont over tighten. Stay away from the thin gaskets at the base of the carb get the nice fat soft ones. I got some studs from a local auto parts store just took out one of the stripped nasty looking studs and went in. Those little bastards aint cheap. they were like 4.00 each. but I needed them so what you going to do?
As for your glowing header have you messed with your timing lately?

Leading ignitor(s) dying will really mess things up. I got both my leading ignitors die on me and the car was running like ****, not idleing, lots of backfires/misfires, loss of power. Hell, I raced a Civic with my trailing ignition only and we were even. That's how slow I was going!
Just got it fixed today, props to Wackyracer. Powah is back baby!!
