Did you replace the fan clutch? Rod out the radiator?

dont mean to ask a stupid question but what do you mean by rod out the radiator. i checked the fan and it is kicking on so i think the fan clutch is ok.

rod out means sending it out to a radiator shop. they will take the top and bottom covers out. dip the core in solvent and clean each pores with a thin strip of metal to clear the passages.

obvious sign of clogged radiator:
temp remains high despite that the car is moving in an open road or freeway (say over 55 mph).

Are you losing coolant? Do you have to put a pint or so of coolant in every day? If so, you have a coolant leak, which could be leaky radiator OR leaking "O Rings". I'm going thru the ORing fix right now.

Overheating is very bad for our engines.

i have some bad memories with overheating. before i started doing major work on my rex it started to overheat. i checked everything and i mean EVERYTHING. i had the radiator rodded, replaced the water pump, replaced the tstat like 6 times, used block sealer on the engine after i flushed it a bunch of times, i replaced the coolant temp sensor, and checked the guage to make sure it was working, and anything else i cant remember off the top of my head. finally i just took out the tstat and it ran cool, eventually i figured out that it was overheating cause the tstat wouldnt open because for some reason, when it was installed the coolant in the tstat housing area wouldnt get hot but the rest of it would. i still dont know what was causing it.

yea first i would check the fan, then get the rad rodded out, then check to make sure the water pump is working and get a new one if u need to, then replace the tstat, if it still doesnt work i would check the sensor and the guage to make sure they are giving accurate readings. i feel your pain lol.....good luck!

Get the rad cleaned (profesional rod job) and make sure your water pump is working. Schucks/Kragen/Checkers has one for $13 (spec order). If its getting hot after 10 min you have no flow. Make sure the tstat is in correct -nipple part facing up (always ). Next would be a clogged rad, then would be water pump (they can cavitate especially high rpm runs). Youll fix it soon, no fears.
