Smile Out of Gas!!!!

Ok here what happened... I filled up about a week ago when today I was driving along and the niddle went from 1/4 of a tank to dead dry!!! The car sputtered and you guessed it I was out of gas... I got a couple of questions!
1. What would cause this?? The Float getting stuck?
2.Could this have hurt my motor in any way?
THANKS!

sounds like your sender is toast, or not reading right, check the wiring to it, or replace it. you can also yank it out of the tank and clean it with a wire brush/sandpaper, watever... you'll have to drop the tank to do so which isnt as difficult as it sounds, if you have a haynes manual read it.

basically its four bolts for the bands around the tank and the bolts at the filler. then its just a matter of removing the sender and either replacing or cleaning.

my sender is also screwed. haha. i just make a note of not driving too far before filling up.

g'luck
