counterr clockwise. best bet is to turn it clockwise all the way in, not tight though just until it wants to stop. and count how many turns it takes just to know were it was. then work it out.when you get 2 to 2 1/2 start turning a 1/4 at a time to fine tune it.

yes, CCL. And be very careful when you run it all the way in. Too hard and you've mashed the tip of the adjuster thingy. Then you'll never get a good idle and you'll have to buy a new one. So be gentle.

The idle screw and the mixture screw interact with each other. You will probably need to readjust them several times, taking careful note of their effects, before you get it right. I'd start with the idle screw first.
Good luck!

Idle screw to get desired RPM, turn in mixture screw untill the car sputters and wants to die, back of 1/4 turn, should be good. May have to repeat till you get it just right!

Just a question, is turning the screw out leaning the mix or richening?
