Isn't a 924 just a 2.0L 4 cylinder? If it is stock, what's the big deal about it vs a RX-7?

the big deal is that its a competitor and this is a contemporary review from the 80's ... so they are comparing the new RX7 (2nd gen EGI) with the late model 924.

BTW this a second gen vs the 924... for all those waiting for it to download

2.5L

The HP, acceleration, top speed and everything are almost identical. The 924 is slightly faster acceleration and gets better gas milage but cost 4000 pounds more, 18000 vs 14000. The reviewer said he would have a very hard time deciding which one he would buy over the other because they are so closely matched.
There you have it, the comparison in a nutshell.

ahh..2.5. I thought it was a 2.0. Maybe the first 924s were 2.0. Now I REALLY don't see a point of a 924 vs a second gen except many say the 924 and the 2nd generation have a very similar look.

924 = 2.0 4cyl audi POS motor that makes 100-125hp depending on year (in north america)
924s = 140HP 2.5l 4cyl out of a 944
924 turbo = 170hp turbo 2.0

so unless they're comparing it to a 924S then it's got a 2.0 4cyl.
