Our first gens suck for car audio...

What do you suggest? My God, 4'' in front? Only 5" in the back? And the rattling is killing me.

And jebus, this guy who had the car before me. He totally firetrucked the wiring. I've pretty much gotta figure everything out on my own. Yay for me!

First gens dont suck for audio at all. Close quarters means less amplification to sound good and/or loud buy a new head unit run new leads or do the old installers trick. Just grab one wire and place it on the positive post or tab of a..lets say cordless drill battery. Than isolate each lead and tap them on the negitave tab and listen for a click in the speaker. Of corse make sure you isolate constant, ignition and groung first. Hope i helped and mabey if you can't get it we could trade some labor? Peter A.Trapino

I have JBL 4 inches in the kick panels, JBL 6 x 9's in the back, 1 inch JBL tweeters on the dash, and a 12 blaupunkt inch sub in the bins. I have no complaints at all, I think it sounds amazing. and since there is no trunk, or obstruction for the sub, the bass really pounds.

And its very easy to at least put 6 1/2's in the back

ill tell u wut i did. my first gen didnt come any back speakers at all so i took off the the casesing and put cheap speakers and then put the cassing back on and put a huge *** kicker box in the back and now it works awsome but if dont wanna shell out that type of money just get the best 4 and 5 inch speaker as possible

i have 5.25" Infinity Kappa up front, 6x9" in the rear, both in stock locations, two MTX Thunder 8000's, and an RF 1000w RMS amp to power the subs.

My system makes my car sound REAL sweet.

The first gen rx-7 holds sound so amazingly well, i will have my system cranked and ppl wont think its that loud, till they get in the car....
