other 1st gen forums
other 1st gen forums
i was bored and browsin around to see what other rotary forums i could find, and i was checkin all their 1st gen sections. and ill tell ya, NONE of them come even close to this one. they have a small fraction of the members and no one knows what to say or what to talk about. of course there is a few gurus (one in particular i saw) that was answering all questions and seemed like he knew a good deal of rotary. i never realized how good this one was!
they also dont have nearly as many forums
nopistons.com is the only one i can remember lol.
just thought id post. later people.

mazspeed.com is a great forum dedicated entirely to 1st gens with heaps of real technical discussion. Not countless threads on why my car won't start.

Well, since I'm going to be redesigning the site with Mike, I think I'll start changing the keywords. Next time you'll have to search for "monkey nipple chicken flap" to find it

Yep, mazspeed WAS the first board I ever found, the old format was sweet. Even the FACTS sections back then helped me out alot. I mostly read over there, same thing when I got here, I think it took me 6 months before I started posting. Learned a hell of alot though.
I saw that Pratch. lol
I have run mazspeed.com for 6 years and had a board for at least 5 of those years. I'm a bit behind on the times as far as web work goes because of my job and because of my active family life, and battlebots. I know longer own a First gen but I would always have people there, so I kept it going. Andrew Leung and others have been putting some serious heat on me to build another First Gen and I might at some point. I keep the site up for the viewers and nothing else. I'm glad to have people visit my site and learn all the stuff that I and others through the years have been able to contribute. As long as people still want to see mazspeed.com Ill always have the site. It was the very first Rx-7 site with a forum and I'm proud of that. I hope that Pratch can help me go into the future with the site and I may expand to 2nd and 3rd gen's but who knows.
Cheers everyone
Mike

mazspeed.com is the mother of first gen sites.
Nowhere will you find more true tech knowledge. If you really need to know, you go to mazspeed. Thank god for Mike and his site. (btw, congrats on the contest mike).
It is true you won't see constant rambling from some youngster who can't figure out why his rotary won't start, but if you need the juice go to mazspeed.
just my opinion, I could be wrong

A friend and I and 2 others joined Gage Cauchios for his 2 robots Vlad 2 and Vladiator. Well Gage and I hit it off and will be doing this again by ourselves, but Comedy Central canceled battlebots and were actively looking for other TV stations to do our shows. We are hoping Battlebots does find a station but in the mean time we have been upgrading both bots.
Battlebots is a robotic fighting club type of thing. I'm not into it real heavy but it is fun and there is some payoff in the end :-)
I'm sorta of in a hurry so I hope I didn't mess up here.
Cheers
Mike
P.S We did win that wedding, and I wanted to thank everyone for there help and support :-)That's 25k that I don't have to pay for.
