Is it bad to wax a car that's got oxidation marks on it? Will it help any?

no its not bad to wax what you have, but it wont help at all, just spend the 100 bucks and get it buffed, imo i think its worth it.

What do you mean get it buffed? Do body shops do heavy buffing like that? Will it take out oxidation?

Nice paint, and the best 1st gen color too! One of my GSLs has a new paint job, brown metallic like the original, but not nearly as nice as the other two that have their original paint.

For mild oxidation I've had excellent luck with McGuirer's paint cleaner. Really brings out the shine. But that pic looks pretty severe, not sure if it would help that much. Maybe a strong rubbing compound or something...

3M makes some great polishing compounds that really help with oxidation and scrathes. I've used them on my GSL-SE as well.
