Options for Cheap, Light hoods... who's making them?

I remember a few different people making hoods, fiberglass and CF.

I'm gonna be in the market for a hood, as my Racecar project is without hood.... let me know what you got... pics, prices, the whole deal.

Also, anyone know how hard it's gonna be to make a rear hatch out of lexan?

I just made a fiberglass dash. I'm fairly satisfied with the results. I'd try some CF if I had the money to get the resins and material. Then again it's not like I need a CF dash but it would look nice.

Now that I've done a dash I feel I should do a hood, almost used up my fiberglass reserves. If I get board one day I may have a go at it.

Its me. $225.00 for the fiberglass hood, $35 to crate it and depending on if you are on the eastcoast($90 for shipping) or westcoast($170.00 for shipping). I can give you an exact quote once you give me your zip code, also shipping to a buisness is much cheaper then a house. The carbon hoods are very tough to make....still working on the "show" hood out of carbon. I can make them out of carbon but they end up with some air bubbles in them(they work fine if you are painting them). I have built several carbon hoods for racers. The fiberglass hoods weight around 14lbs and the carbon ones weight around 10lbs. The hoods bolt to the factory hinges but you still have to use hood pins at the top of the hood.

Call Mike VanSteenburg @ ISC Racing in FL. He makes fiberglass body parts and Lexan windows cheaper than anybody I've found. I've got his stuff on my racecar.

His number is (863) 324-4539.
