opinions?

when i first saw this i was really shocked! its such a clean GSL especially me being a gsl owner myself. it has mudflaps!!!! how rare is that? i never seen that! and of course the premium sound system which i am still sourcing together to restore into my car. but its auto which doesnt really matter because a prime car like this would win best of show stock classic class and since it has under 30k on the odo. you know it hasnt been driven much and abused. just wow!

the big thing that puzzles me is that it doesnt have any gsl badges... and it doesnt have power windows or a rear hatch wiper. has the heated defroster strips for the hatch glass though but not sure if that came on all the models. but im lovin the black interior!

it could be a gs because it has a sunroof it could have been improved such as with the factory premium sound system to bump up the price.. but its still clean

my bad i read wrong kuz it just says 1983 mazda rx7 and his PREVIOUS car was a 1983 mazda rx7 GSL. so i am guessing this car for sale is a gs with some upgrades to increase the value such as those mudflaps (never seen them but *drool*) and the premium sound system. but on top of everything its still a clean car with low milage and not-so-common automatic transmission

Whoa dude. I agree that it is high, but man that thing is mint!!!

First off: Ebay doesnt have a rotary section, thats why he put that.
Second: Where the hell are you getting a paintjob at macco?
Third: how can you say that it probably does all that if you've never seen it?

dont mean to bash, but hey hes making the cash off it, so what do we care. Hell I wish I could get 5k for mine if i decided to sell. Just my 2cents

first of all welcome to the forums and i hope you will find this place full of info and help for your first gen. i checked my vb catalog and did not see any mudflaps. i know that mazda dealerships sold mudflaps as an optional add. i also agree the price is that high but its mint and it runs with low miles and an automatic tranny which means very little abuse. yes he did not take pictures of the engine bay but i trust his word. and if it does leak oil everywhere then its time for an engine rebuild or swap and time to go turbo!! haha

most agreadble its just i am very cocious/ sapecious of buying cars over the interet, also i know how the oil leaking can afect everything under the hood sadly i have learned and had to replace llots of pars, such as, starter, plugs, spark wires, alternator, air conditioner, water pump, suspension, and complete re wireng of the electrical system, and most of those multiple times. lcuky me

Its definately clean, but not worth that kind of money in my opinion. As far as the whole automatic transmission meaning its not abused. Where do you get that at? Just because a car has an automatic transmission doesn't mean that someone didn't beat the **** out of it at one point. This car doesnt appear that way, but still. I coud sit and do neutral drops all day, or drop it into neutra and free-rev to redline then yank it back into drive, or other stupid **** of that nature.

Also, while the car appears to be very clean, and that the mileage is true, there isn't a whole hell of a lot to rolling back an odometer, or swapping out a cluster. Because of the year of the car, mileage is not likely to have been recorded on the title. However, this car appears to have correct mileage.

Actually its almost impossible to beat on an auto RX7 1st gen the trans changes at a low shift point so they are usually not beaten up too much.

the reserve wasn't met on it..shocker! but it did get up there in the bids
nice looking 7

the moonroof/sunroof terminology is a mixed bag
moonroof meaning you can see the moon and stars at night (glass) without opening it
the sunroof meaning you open it to get some sun but, are protected from it when closed/solid

and of course you realize I just went and made that all up...but it sounds good damnit

when we think about auto trans and clean first gens we think about more elder responsible adults who do not damage their cars but pulling hard especially in an auto and pretending an auto can be a manual by going to 1 then 2 then d. i do know how to drive a auto because my daily beater is a old ford minivan auto. whats so hard about driving an automatic? the better you treat your car the better the car will treat you. and thats a fact. my minivan has near 200,000 miles on the odo and no oil leaks, no coolant leaks, its still solid and has decent torque and power

Not sure, but I think the listing choices are a "check-list" kinda thing. I doubt that "Rotary" is a choice on E-Bay!
