Operating Tempurature

I live on the westcoast of Canada so the temp here is generally pretty mild, except for the odd scoarcher. I havent had much experience driving 7s so i just want to try and get this straight. From what ive read , a 12a should be warmed up for at least 3 or 4 minutes then drivin easy ( shifting at somewhere around 3000) for a few kilometres. My main question is where on the temp guage should the car usually be when its at normal operating temp and im driving it hard. Im told it should be around 1/4 to 1/3 , never close to 1/2...

196 degree thermostat will put your gauge almost half way across.

I my normal driving temp is about 165-170* and up to 180* when I'm pushing hard. It goes a little higher than that when we get some really hot wheather, but not much.

I'm in texas(temp is pretty much always between 90-100) and mine usually sits a little above 1/4, except when I'm sitting in traffic it goes up to a little below half.

My REPU has water temp 180-185*F, 190 when up hills or driving hard.

Oil temps are generally the same or 10-20*F colder.

210 slow down or stop drafting, 220 pull over. racers will say they run 250F all weekend long but watch how long their motor lasts.
