Has anyone noticed this?
My clear outer lenses fell off so I got another pair from a pick n' pull to experiment with making my own.
On both pairs the right sides are darker than the left. I'm being pedantic, but it's really noticeable without the outer lens.

Old [Sch|F]ool
The lenses fill with debris if they aren't sealed well. The exhaust also makes a lot of heat. The exhaust is on the right side... so maybe it's a combination of exhaust soot and heat-darkening?
Maybe not something that happens overnight, but 30 years of driving might show an effect.

Yep, looks like it's dust, soot, and heat. I popped the lenses out of the housings and gave them a quick wash on both sides. I can't tell much difference with light behind them. However the right side has a duller shine, doesn't feel as slick as the left side.
