one last shot...
well, i have done absolutely everything i can think of to fix my carb problem and it still won't idle at all. i can put it under load and drive real hard and everything and it's nice as ever. can't cruise though or it bucks like HELL!!!! i can't even use the idle adjuster to keep even a crazy high idle. WTF!!!!!!! i'm going to an FC motor soon, but i really want to get this thing going first!!! AHHHH! help plleeeaaasseee, here's what i have done.
rebuilt first carb with no success,
got a carb off another running rx7.
cranking problem was fixed.
since then:
cleaned carb,
replaced every single god damn vaccum line, (don't have any emissions)
tried 3 different carb spacers,
banged on the "banjo fittings"
banged the whole damn carb!
NOTHING HELPS!!!!!

Have you replaced your plugs, cap, rotor? How's your timing? Are you getting spark out of both coils?
Most importantly - Have you checked the infamous vacum house down on the passenger side of the car. It's a big house, 1 " diameter roughly. It was my problem on the first 7 I had.
Secondly - You need to check what your manifold pressure is.
If you need to, crank up the mixture screw and idle screw till it idles at 1500 to 2k rpm. Then start adjusting your idle. It will be hard without a sensor though. I had to install an O2 sensor in mine so I could adjust down to 14.7:1 or there abouts. Basically, you drop the idle screw to 750. Then you adjust your mixture to about 400 to 600 millivolts. Then repeat.
You've got a simple problem somewhere, you just need to work through each item till you get it.

i have replaced the AAB hose you are speaking of. i have new ngk wires, new ngk plugs, new msd blaster 2 coils. it cranks right up, it has to be vaccum related. just doesnt make sense as to where. i know it is carb related. the carb i had on before wouldnt crank for ****, but ran and idled beautifully. :'(
I still say it's the acv blocker plate... make sure that thing is SEALED put a good gasket in there, load it with gasket goo and use strong bolts to tighten that down as strong as possible... if that blocker plate came with bolts don't use them, they're junk, i broke two of them off in my IM... also there should be a hole in the back of the IM (firewall side) that i think was part of the acv? i don't know, my car didn't come with a hooked up ACV, my blocker plate came with a little red cap that covers up the hole in the back of the IM for the acv, this might help you out.

I was in denial for a long time with the same problem.
Try unbolting your exhaust at the manifold. Start it up and it will blow your eardrums out, but take it for a spin around the block and see if that fixes your problem.
If it does you have a clogged cat. Its an easy and inexpensive experiment, and at the very least eliminates one more possibility.
