AFAIK, any good-quality two-stroke oil should work. As for ratios, I think it depends who you talk to. I've seen a few people post that they use 150:1, so that seems the most common mixing ratio.

Use roughly 1oz of oil per gallon of gas and be sure to use an oil that meets TC–W3 specifications. I have a 16 gallon tank and drop in 1/2 quart at each fill-up.

How do you know that it seized? By their very nature they're loaded with oil. I can't imagine how one would seize.

I use 4oz of MMO for each full tank of gas. I don't wait until the tank is empty before I fill it up with gas. I usually fill my tank up when it is 3/4 to 1/2 empty.
I just pour about 4oz of MMO in first and the fill up will mix the MMO well enough. I will experiment with Redline racing 2-stroke oil next to see if there is any difference compare to the MMO.
